Strengthen the economic and cultural vitality of our downtown while enhancing and preserving its historic character and beauty.
Mount Pleasant's Downtown will be a symbol of the community's economic health. The heart of the city will boast a beautifully preserved historic district with well-kept buildings that are respectful of their eras and have modern interiors.
The vibrant city center will help attract and retain new businesses, industries and residents to the area. People of all ages will find the unique retail stores and quaint restaurants appealing. Businesses will work cooperatively to promote the diverse business mix. People will want to stay and shop in the community.
As Mount Pleasant's cultural center, downtown will be a gathering spot for young and old and the place to go for fun and entertainment. It will be "the place to be" offering a total experience for shopping, dining, outstanding service and hospitality.
Residents will share a sense of pride and accomplishment in knowing their effort has benefited future generations.
